Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit
The Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit is a core Cherokee County Superior Court detail. The official history says the circuit was created November 24, 1851, with eleven counties. Judges once traveled county to county for sessions. Population growth later split off mountain counties into the Appalachian Judicial Circuit, and on July 3, 1998, Forsyth became its own circuit, leaving Cherokee County as the sole county in the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit.
